Why "Sea Country"

Sea Country is the stretch of coastal hills between the 5 and the Pacific that Laguna Niguel calls home. We named the hospital after the place because that's who it's for: the families, dog walkers, and backyard tortoise keepers who live here.

What we're building

The hospital on La Paz Road is a state-of-the-art general practice: a dedicated surgical suite, a full in-house laboratory, digital radiography and ultrasonography, endoscopy and laparoscopy for minimally invasive procedures, and a dedicated dental suite. Dogs and cats have separate areas so visits stay calm. We're outfitting it with the kind of monitoring and diagnostic equipment you'd expect at a referral center, because the standard of care shouldn't depend on which door you walk through.

Who's behind it

Sea Country is owned and led by Omar El-Taliawi, DVM. Dr. El-Taliawi earned his veterinary degree in 2004 and completed an internship at Sonora Veterinary Specialists in Phoenix and VCA All Care Animal Referral Center in Orange County, with a focus on surgery that goes beyond what most general practitioners train in. He then spent years in emergency and specialty medicine before co-founding and leading a busy emergency hospital in the Inland Empire since 2020.

Sea Country is the practice he's wanted to build all along: a primary-care hospital where you see the same doctor over the years, where prevention gets as much attention as treatment, and where diagnostics, surgery, and dentistry happen under one roof so your pet isn't sent across the county for care that should be routine. The premise is simple: good medicine, explained plainly, from people who actually like your pet.
